At the end of each school yr, BHS' Circle Book Club celebrates the power of reading by giving back to the school community. This year, Circle members chose to support Mrs. Arguelles and the EL (English Learner) program. The EL classroom already had a bookshelf, so Circle stepped in to complete the space—donating a cozy rug and a comfortable reading chair to create a welcoming book nook!
Their thoughtful gift is a beautiful example of how reading not only promotes personal growth—but also builds a stronger, more connected community. 💙 Thank you, Circle Book Club, for continuing to make a difference—one page at a time!

75 kids participated in the 12th annual BHS Bring Your Child to Work Day last Friday. The kids were able to shadow their family member for part of the day and also visit other classes for fun activities such as slime making, homemade ice-cream labs, dodgeball, storytelling, a mini musical, a visit from Kona Ice, and meeting a therapy dog. The day was a huge success thanks to the Child Care 1 and Child Care 2 students and the many staff volunteers! #BremenBraves

BHS Class of 2020 Alumni Devonte O'Malley has signed with the Tennessee Titans for the 2025 NFL Season! After leaving BHS Vito went on to be a preferred walked on for Northern Illinois Football team which quickly turned into a scholarship. He was a key player in NIU upsetting Notre Dame his senior year and was named National Defensive Player Of The Week. We are so proud of you and can't wait to follow your NFL journey!

BHS hosted the annual BHSD228 District Entrepreneurship competition today. Facing the sharks on ABC’s Shark Tank is not an easy thing to do, even when you are a successful entrepreneur. At District 228, students defended their business plan and concepts in front of friendly “sharks” gathered to judge their business concepts from OFHS, TPHS, and BHS. OFHS came out on top but all the plans were top notch! Mr. Harris, Mrs. Guzak, & 40 Personal Finance students visited the @chicagofed today. They learned about the Federal Reserve and the role it plays in our economy. Afterwards the students were able to go through the Money Museum where they saw what a million dollars looked like in different denominations as well as how money has changed through the times. This trip is part of National Financial Literacy Month. Thank you @chicagofed for having us!
