It was a great day to be a Brave for our Math 2 students! They took their learning outside the classroom today at the Morton Arboretum, using similar triangles and shadow measurements to calculate the heights of trees. Real-world problem solving, teamwork, and nature all in one lesson. Even the ecology club had a chance to join. That’s how the Bremen Braves make math come alive! 🌞🌲

Mrs. Guzak & Mr. Harris' Personal Finance students took a trip to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago today! They met with a @chicagofed employee, explored exhibits dating back to the 1600s, and even saw what $1 million looks like in different bills 💵. After the Money Museum, they headed back to the suburbs to debrief on the day and enjoy lunch together. It was a great day of learning and fun! #BremenBraves #PersonalFinance #ChicagoFed

Last Thursday, @BremenHSDeca attended the 2025 @IllinoisDECA Fall Leadership Conference at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center! Students connected with @DECAInc chapters from across Illinois. Students heard from keynote speaker Dr. Carol Lynn Knute, joined breakout sessions on professionalism, career readiness, marketing & entrepreneurship, and witnessed the election of the 2025–2026 @IllinoisDECA State Officer Team.

What. A. Night. Midway through Homecoming Week, the BHS Senior Class and Intramural Sports Club brought the energy with our first-ever Dodgeball Tournament — and it did not disappoint! Thanks to everyone’s support, the funds raised will help bring more epic nights like this to BHS!

This week, Bremen High School students have been visiting the BHSD 228 September 11 Memorial Exhibit, honoring the 24th anniversary of 9/11.

What began five years ago as a collaboration between the OFHS IMC and Social Studies teams has grown into a traveling memorial featuring artifacts donated by staff—newspapers, photos, flags, videos, and more—that bring history to life.

This year, the exhibit is hosted at Bremen for the first time, allowing students to reflect, remember, and learn together.

In collaboration with The Nature Conservancy at Indian Boundary Prairies in Markham, IL, students from our Environmental Investigations classes had the opportunity to visit Paintbrush Prairie and discover the incredible treasure we have right here in our community.

While the original plan was to participate in a butterfly feeding event, the monarchs were not available. The Nature Conservancy quickly rescheduled activities, which resulted in some amazing new experiences for our students! They learned about the vital role prairies play in our environment, explored plant and animal species unique to this habitat, and gained insight into invasive species—along with the ongoing efforts by The Nature Conservancy and the Illinois Department of Transportation to control their spread.

Students also had the chance to walk through the prairie and collect samples for observation. Following their time at Paintbrush Prairie, they visited Oak Forest High School to observe the prairie restoration work in progress along 151st Street.

Having access to these sites as part of their studies allows students to engage in authentic, hands-on learning while deepening their understanding of local environments and habitats.
